Christian Education

Our mission at Lakeview Christian School is to encourage children to love Jesus, love others and love learning! The two great commandments are at the forefront of everything we do and help set the tone for a warm, caring community. We welcome all denominations and faiths and believe that we are all part of the family of God.

Lakeview Christian School is a fully accredited K-9 school with small class sizes and affordable tuition. We also provide preschool/daycare for children ages 3-5 and accommodate grades 10-12 through a West Coast Adventist Distance Learning facilitator on our campus.

Our BC certified teachers deliver the BC curriculum with a Christian perspective and are committed to enabling excellent inquiry and project based learning. Students have the opportunity to perform in the band and choir and take part in swimming, gymnastics and many other activities that enrich our program. We have a well-equipped facility with a STEAM lab (science, technology, engineering, art and math) and other maker spaces as well as a full-size gym and stage. The school is located 15 minutes from downtown Victoria, BC, on a lovely, wooded acreage overlooking Elk Lake.

Lakeview Christian School is part of a large network of international schools operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. We receive guidance, direction and monitoring from the Seventh-day Adventist, BC Conference, Office of Education  as well as from the headquarters of the church in Canada and the North American Division. These organizations provide tremendous support with educational and administrative resources and services.

What We Believe

As Seventh-day Adventists, we believe in the triune, God of Creation; the perfect expression of love in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, co-eternal and co-equal. We believe that Jesus, the son, came to earth to reveal God's character of love to humanity and repair the relationship that was broken when Adam and Eve mistrusted God. The Bible is our rule of faith and we believe that everyone is invited to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Bible study and prayer, with illumination from the Holy Spirit, are essential for learning about who God is, and entering into a relationship where we can learn to love and trust Him.

We believe that God alone has the power and authority to forgive and heal us from sin and He desires this above all else. God's character is revealed in the two great commandments, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and to love others as you love yourself. This is further expanded in the ten commandments so we can understand and identify how sin has affected our lives. Obedience does not earn salvation; it is a free gift to us when we decide to follow Jesus. But when we choose to be Christian, we must also choose to enter into a relationship with God, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us. The good news about God, is that we can love and trust Him. He proved what love looked like by choosing to lay His life down for us in the most spectacular display of other-centered love. Rather than use His power against us, He chose to use His love to win our hearts. His plan, is to bring us back into fellowship with Him and restore in us the desire to love as He does, with pure, overwhelming and extravagant, unselfish love.
